Technical Information Center
Objective
With the support of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Japan International Cooperation Agency, and the cooperation of Overseas Medical Equipment Technical Assistants (OMETA), manufacturers, trading companies, consultants and related organizations, the Technical Information Center aims to remedy the lack of technical information required for maintenance of medical equipment in developing countries, and to meet the need for information relating to daily maintenance and basic malfunctions.
Concerned Equipment are:
The equipment concerned is as follows:
- Medical equipment obtained by Japan's Grant Aid following the establishment of the Technical Information Center.
- In principle, medical equipment with a purchase price of over 200,000 yen.
A Technical Information Center's sticker is affixed to the equipment concerned.
Period of Coverage
Basically, the equipment shall be covered by the Technical Information Center for a period equivalent to the useful life of the equipment, and on average, approximately 6-7 years from the, time of purchase.
* OMETA (Overseas Medical Equipment Technical Assistants) was established in July 1993 on the initiative of the Medical & Dental Device Division of the Japan Medical Products International Trade Association (JAMPITA), with the aim of ensuring efficient overseas maintenance of Japanese medical equipment, apparatus and related supplies, keeping them in good working order, supporting Japanese international cooperation projects, and maintaining the confidence of overseas markets in Japanese medical equipment.
