Concerned Persons in Afghanistan Visit Japan for the Survey of Demining Machines and Detecting Machines

11 persons in total from the Transitional Administration of Afghanistan, United Nation Mine Action Centre for Afghanistan(UNMACA), and Demining NGOs visited Japan from November 29th to December 14th, 2003. During the visit, they attended meetings on the Demining Machines developed by Japanese construction manufacturers, and attended machine’s demonstration. Although their stay in Japan was only for two weeks, they visited many places vigorously, and as aid for Afghanistan is a matter of high attention in Japan, some media made report on their visit.

(2) Detecting Machines

The mission of Department of Mine Clearance (DMC) and UNMACA visited Japan from June 7th to June 18th, 2004 for an inspection of detecting machines. During their stay, they visited several manufacturers and university to confirm the progress of development of each machine.
