Explosive tests were also conducted to confirm the body

Real mine field test in Kabul International Airport
All of the local tests of Demining Machines and Detecting Machines in Afghanistan, which began in July 2004, finished in the middle of February 2005.
Although it snowed heavily in January around Kabul area and participants worried about the temporal interruption of the test schedule, all test were conducted safely by the efforts of related persons.
Some participants implemented not only the model mines tests but also bigger explosive tests and real mine field tests in Kabul International Airport. After these tests, participants brought back important data and have been improving their equipment based on these informations.
It is highly anticipated that these improved equipment will contribute to clear land mines in Afghanistan.

There are all of the demining machines, detecting machines (vehicle mounted type; left). Yellow container displaying Japanese flags (3rd from left) is a "supporting vehicle" where participants took shelter during explosive tests.
