Achievements

Records of Phase 1

The project supports the National Police/ Ministry of Interior in improving their management of legal weapons. It aims to
safely and securely register and store police weapons and reduces surplus weapons of the Provincial Police in the target areas, thus preventing leakage and illegal circulation of legal weapons.

The target area for this project under the current Phase 2 is Battambang and Kampong Thom Provinces, as in the WDP Project.
Together, collecting illegal weapons posessed by civilians and securing the management of legal police weapons enables a comprehensive and effective small arms management in these areas.

Project activities include:

  • Rebuilding old and insecure weapons warehouses and installing weapons racks and other items for safe and secure weapon storage.
  • Providing training for the registration of all weapons in the target areas.
  • Providing computerized weapons registration system and training to computerize stockpile managment
