What is JSAC? | |

JSAC, Japan Assistance Team for Small Arms Management in Cambodia, is a project team established for the implementation of "Peace Building and Comprehensive Small Arms Management Program". This Program is a grant aid for conflict prevention and peace building
provided by the Government of Japan to the Royal Government of Cambodia.

2001 | April: Japan Government supports "Weapons for Development" Project implemented
by EU-ASAC in Pursat Province through Grassroots Grant Aid. October: Former JSAC Project Manager Mr. Kentaro Gemma starts feasibility study for the Comprehensive Small Arms Management Program in Cambodia funded by the Japan Government. |
2003 | January: The Exchange of Notes (E/N) between the Royal Government of Cambodia
and the Government of Japan took place for the Program "Peace Building and Comprehensive Small Arms Management Program in Cambodia." March: Japan International Cooperation Systems (JICS) signed the Agent Agreement with the Ministry of Interior for coordination and the procurement of the Program. April: JICS established JSAC to start the Program activities. |
2005 | January: Exchange of Notes (E/N) was concluded between the Royal Government of
Cambodia and the Government of Japan for Phase 2 of the Project. February: JICS signed the Agent Agreement with the Ministry of Interior for Phase 2 of the Program. September: JSAC started Phase 2 of the Program. |
