JICS had a special workshop for the World Bank’s new procurement framework presented by Mr. Christopher Browne, Chief Procurement Officer, the World Bank Washington D.C. who had come to Tokyo to join the international conference hosted by the World Bank Tokyo Office. Mr. Browne was the center to lead his team to produce the new framework which official operation was started in July 2016. The agenda and contents of his presentation were comprehensive yet concise, carefully chosen to match interests of JICS procurement staff.
The new framework and its accompanying new documents such as Procurement Standard Documents (PSD) have been just introduced and now they expect practical feedbacks from Borrowers, governments and organizations, and stakeholders.
JICS will watch and follow how the new framework influences the regulations and guidelines of procurement works of governments and agencies in the world, and how innovated the new framework itself and the value for money criteria will be.
