Tests for Demining Machines Completed

The Project for Research and Development of Mine Clearance Related Equipment in Cambodia

Field tests for Demining Machines started August 2006 and completed November 2006.
The field tests composed of three categories of test namely, performance test, survivability test and real mine field test.
Performance test is to understand the capabilities and efficiencies of the machines in terms of clearance productivity, clearance quality, mobility etc.
Survivability test is to assess the safety of the operator and machine against the explosion of anti-tank mine.
Real mine field test is to operate the machine in real mine filed to understand the operational performance of the machine in real mine field.
All the tests were completed successfully and the machines were shipped back to Japan. The participants got many important data and ideas for improvement of the machines.
CMAC expect that these improved machines will contribute to speed up the demining activity in Cambodia in near future.
