Test for Mine Detectors Completed
The Project for Research and Development of Mine Clearance Related Equipment in Cambodia
Field test for Mine Detectors started October 2006 and completed January 2007.
All the mine detector tested were the combination of metal detector and GPR (ground penetration radar) sensor.
The tests were carried out in the test site prepared in the CMAC regional center in Siem Reap.
There are six types of test lanes which are filled with 3 types of soils also wet and dry condition. Several numbers of real mines (without boosters) are berried each lane.
The tests were to find out the capability of the detectors.
The participants got many important data as well as the good field experience.
CMAC expect that the test will assist the further development work of the participants.
